Mini Rodini is so loved at Scout & Co! We've stocked the brand since the early days of the store and I have dressed all three of my daughters in their brilliant clothes: the signature prints, soft organic cotton and sustainable production make it our go-to.
Founder and creative director Cassandra Rhodin is in charge of the whole artistic outlook of the brand. Cassandra designs the collections, shoots the lookbook and campaign images, writes the storyboards for the campaign films and is behind the storytelling and tonality of the brand. We asked her about the inspiration behind the new SS25 collection, her studio and for her Stockholm recommendations…
Hi Cassandra, thank you so much for answering these questions. It’s been a real pleasure to have stocked Mini Rodini at Scout & Co for all these years!
'Yay that makes me so happy. Thanks for all your support!'
What was your starting point for designing the SS25 collection?
'The collection is called “Stockholm in My Heart” and is inspired by my hometown. Or rather the town from my childhood - so it's also a bit nostalgic. I grew up in the city and the streets that were my playground and where I lived we had an iconic view over Stockholm, the old town and the water.'
Do you have any favourite inspiration from your childhood?
'As a kid I used to draw all the time - mostly men smoking nonstop, like my dad used to do but also animals and anything around me really. I also loved books and reading, The Wind On The Moon by Eric Linklater and all the books by the Swedish author Maria Gripe were my favourites.'
Tell us about your studio…
'My studio is very messy to others but not me. I keep endless amounts of drawings, paintings and thoughts on papers in random piles and I don't want people in there, feels like someone would step inside my head if they went into my studio.'
As your SS25 collection is called ‘Stockholm In My Heart’, please can you share some recommendations for Stockholm and your local area?
'Rosendals is a perfect destination for families. Kids can roam freely in the apple garden, explore the labyrinth, and participate in gardening activities, while adults can relax with a drink. The greenhouses at Rosendals house both a restaurant and a café, open year-round, making it a wonderful spot no matter the season.
For pop culture enthusiasts, the ABBA Museum is a must-visit. Here, you can step into the world of ABBA, exploring the band’s incredible career. You can record yourself singing ABBA’s greatest hits, perform virtually alongside holograms of the band members, and even create your own remix of their classic songs.'
Thanks for chatting with me, Cassandra!
