Style It My Way SS19: Sammy from Wolfnoodle
Tell us a bit about yourself…
'Hello! I'm Sammy, I live in Manchester with my partner and our two boys, Noah and Manni. I love being creative and since having children, I gained a passion for fun and colourful interiors – Instagram helped a little with that! I started up Wolfnoodle while on maternity leave, which is where I sell my art prints. I have been overwhelmed by the orders, support and positive feedback I have received from this little community on Instagram. I'm looking forward to getting a little more stuck into it now Manni is getting bigger!'
Where did you shoot these photographs?
'In our home and garden. As much as we enjoy park hangs and days spent outdoors, we also love to spend time together at home which is where I photograph them the most. 90% of the photographs I take outside are those dodgy quick blurry/motion shots because my boys are never still. Especially if there's a ball involved!'
What do you like to dress your kids in?
'I love dressing boys! Although Noah has become very select with his taste as he's got older. My all-time favourite is Bobo Choses. I love the playful, fun designs and the dreamy colour combos. No other brand excites me like they do and it's hard to contain myself on launch day!'
What do they love to wear?
'Noah really loves Main Story. It's so comfy, cool and extremely well made. I cannot tell you how many times they've been washed and they still look great. I just love dressing Manni in straight trousers tucked over his chubby tummy and a baby vest. I also have a thing for baby socks. He's got quite an impressive sock drawer, I'm pretty jealous!'
What are your favourite SS19 pieces and brands?
'It's a tough choice, I couldn't whittle anything down! I really love the Bobo Choses Paul's Wagon baby T-shirt and red backpack. They were my first picks when the collection launched. I also love Noah in the Bobo Choses Paul's Wagon short-sleeve sweat and the Main Story dungarees are a perfect slouchy fit over the The Animals Observatory yellow tee The Campamento is a beautiful brand that I have discovered through Scout & Co, I'm already eager to see more of their designs. Fresh Dinosaurs are fun, vibrant and well made – so basically all the brands and all the clothes in the shoot!'
What do you like best about spring/summer?
'Even though I'm an eternal autumn/winter girl, I'm always ready for spring and summer to come around. I like not having to worry too much about the housework because we're mostly outside! The best thing is the extended day. We love being able to enjoy the park in the early evening when it's quiet and that pretty evening sunlight is shining. It also means that Dad can join us after work, too. H aving a holiday to look forward to is always nice.'
What do your kids like to do in summer?
'Noah is thrilled when school's out! Last year, we had a family holiday to Gran Canaria which we all loved and Noah constantly asks if we can go back. The boys are lucky enough to have quite a few close cousins who they adore, so spending time with them is always at the top of our list. We usually take a trip to Chester Zoo and a trip to the seaside but mostly we enjoy the simple things, park hang-outs with a picnic lunch and a ball thrown in. Happy days!'
